“Alone We Can Do So Little, Together We Can Do So Much” (Helen Keller)
As one of the main sponsors for last week’s More than Hope gala event hosted by Ricoh, ISL are pleased to announce that a staggering £45,000 was raised in aid of The Prince’s Trust
Following on from last week’s blog “ISL Join Forces with Ricoh to promote The Prince’s Trust Event”, the week saw a momentous moment for Ricoh UK. Ricoh, having held a huge charity gala event, in aid of The Prince’s Trust, and welcoming over 350 guests, six entertainment acts, eight celebrities, the event helped raise at least £45,000, and Integrating Solutions Limited are delighted to have been one of its main sponsors when the More than Hope charity gala event opened its doors for the first time last Tuesday.
The event was held at The Grand Connaught Rooms, London and was organised by the Ricoh Explore 1 leadership programme team members, who were tasked, over six months ago, to put their learning into practice and help raise significant funds for the charity.
The highlights of the evening included:
-
Over 350 paying guests attended
-
Four formal event sponsors supported the event
-
Six entertainment acts were on site throughout
-
The evening was compared by charity specialist, Jonny Gould
-
Absolute Radio co-host Alun Cochrane joined as the main comedian
-
Guests enjoyed a luxury three course meal
-
Two immaculately dressed rooms, both Ricoh branded
-
Eight celebrities including Charlie Hull, Tony Cottee, Ugo Monye and Alex Gregory
Finding the meaning of More Than Hope
Part way through the evening, Janna Adamson, a Prince’s Trust beneficiary, took to the stage and silenced the audience with a deeply moving story of her dreams, struggles, sacrifice and ultimate triumphs – all with the support of The Trust. She brought tears to everyone’s eyes, and as her ten minute address came to a close, the crowd gave her a deserved standing ovation. It was truly a moment that captured the essence of what More Than Hope is all about.
Fund raising
To generate a sizeable donation to the charity, More Than Hope used various techniques throughout the evening. In addition to ticket sales, this included; an on-the-table signed rugby ball raffle, individual pledges, a magnificent online silent auction and a comedy verbal auction given by Jonny Gould.
Final counting is still in progress, but the organising committee estimates the total funds raised by More Than Hope is at least £45,000.
Stephen Palmer, Ricoh Director and Explore Programme Sponsor said of the event “this was truly an exceptional evening that was expertly delivered by the team, but more importantly, gave a fantastic experience to everyone and vitally, raised significant funds for The Prince’s Trust. It was a pleasure to be a part of and see the team reflect Ricoh’s values so impressively.”
The Directors of ISL, Graham Fisk and Simon Wassell, would like to congratulate Ricoh and the Explore 1 team for the outstanding success of the More than Hope gala and for the opportunity to collaborate and be part of such a successful event.
