What’s New in Papercut v15.3?
Every business looks to improve how they handle their print processes, reduce costs and make things more productive both for staff and the office. Papercut has been helping businesses and organisations to achieve this for a good few years now. The new Papercut v15.3 release allows users to perform better integrated scanning and manage multiple accounts and keep track of their toner requirements, all at the touch of a few buttons.
What is Papercut?
Papercut is the print management software of choice for many businesses across the world, including the UK. As an affordable option it is also ideal for schools and colleges and other organisations such as the NHS that need to carefully monitor their budgets and need a solution that manages printing resources more easily.
What’s in the Update?
Integrated Scanning: It’s now easier for any system administrator to give permissions to individual accounts and add user-specific scan actions such as scanning to email, to a particular folder or device. That means in a couple of clicks staff can send information and documents to the right place immediately without having to save to their own drives first. It gives managers and staff more control across their entire network and saves valuable time while reducing the prospect of errors. This provision is currently being rolled out for all the major copier brands starting with Sharp and Kyocera.
Managing Large Numbers of Shared Accounts: A number of businesses have multiple accounts to deal with and managing these can be a nightmare if the right software solutions aren’t in place. Papercut V15.3 allows system administrators and office staff to access information on shared accounts either on their desktop application or via the MFP interface to make things move more quickly. In addition, they have produced a guide for dealing with large numbers of accounts which shows businesses and organisations how to get the best out of the software.
Releasing Manager Roles Securely
It can often be inconvenient if a system manager is not available when an urgent job needs undertaking so the new Papercut makes it easier to delegate and give permissions to other parties securely to access the control panel. This includes being able to control the type of print job a release manager is able to perform and means businesses and organisations can maintain greater control without losing flexibility. Better delegation means there is less pressure on print processes and the office is able to operate more smoothly without sacrificing security.
Better Toner Notifications
One of the key areas for any business or organisation is to ensure that they have enough consumables to print as and when they need it. Running low on toner when you have a big job that needs to be produced quickly can be frustrating and can cost your business or organisation money. V15.3 includes updated and improved toner notifications which sees a move away from a reactive practice to a more proactive one that links in with the ongoing maintenance of all devices on a particular premises.
